MANAGING DIRECTOR
Robert Sun
Robert Sun has been appointed MD of Oreways Mining (PTY) Ltd and his 20 years of international trade experience along with his global knowledge of the industry will allow for a smooth entry into the South African market.
Robert was born in China (1978) and received his tertiary education at The Dalian Foreign Language University in China, majoring in International Trade and Finance (bachelor's degree)
Soon thereafter, Robert moved to the UK and attended Greenwich Meridian College, majoring in Financial Management.
Experience:
2006- Present: Newday Recycling LTD as Founder with a focus on the Ferro/Non Ferro Metals scrap trade between the UK and China
2015 – Present: VOIMA UK LIMITED as Director, with a focus on Industrial Lubricant Oil and Mineral products on an international scale.
2023: OREWAYS MINING SA (PTY) LTD: CEO. Chrome /Nickel and Minerals trading between South Africa and China. Head of the entry into the South African market and procurement of specific minerals for smelters in China.
Robert is committed to fostering long-term relationships with South Africa as a nation, and within the mining sector. He is passionate about ethics, sustainability, corporate responsibility and mutual respect between all stakeholders. Robert is determined to use his global experience and effective management style to forge lasting relationships. Open, clear and regular communication is at the heart of Robert’s previous successes. He believes that communication is the tool to success in professional and personal relationships. Robert is excited to be leading the company as it launches operations in South Africa and is confident that the Oreways offering will be warmly received among South African stakeholders.
